Bank of Queensland staff did not always meet applicants for home equity loans introduced by Storm Financial, in breach of the bank’s lending guidelines. Instead Storm Financial would interview would-be borrowers.Former BoQ branch owners have said the bank's policy was for "face-to-face" interviews with loan applicants.BOQ faces losses on loans to Storm customers who often used the equity withdrawn from their home as the basis for a margin loan from a second lender. Storm Financial collapsed early in 2009.
