Credit Unions offering best interest rates 21 November 2008
Thirty credit unions have interest rates on deposits over $10,000 that are 1.25 per cent higher than the major banks. The top credit union deposit accounts currently on offer are at 7.5 per cent. There are more than 30 smaller banks and regional credit unions all offering deposit rates that are superior to the big four banks. NAB iSaver is offering 6.25 per cent, which is the best rate currently on offer from the big banks. ANZ online saver is at 6 per cent, Westpac Reward Saver is at 5.4 per cent and Commonwealth’s Netbank Saver is offering 5 per cent.
