Wizard Home Loans, GE Money and Citibank have all raised rates on their credit cards. Wizard has raised the interest rates on their Clear Advantage MasterCard by 2.75 per cent to 18.49 per cent. The rate hike took effect yesterday, the same day the Reserve Bank cut official rates by 0.25 per cent. Yesterday Wizard was forced to defend the rate hike which was not publicised by the non-bank lender when it made an announcement on the weekend that it would cut rates on home loans. Wizard said the rate hike was needed to ease pressure on fees.
