The Financial Ombudsman Service reported a 77 per cent increase in disputes across investments, life insurance and superannuation in the year to June. Most of the complaints related to financial planners and would require a panel or an adjudication to determine the outcome.The Financial Ombudsman Service is currently reworking the complaints system because the overload on services due to the high number of complaints. The service is now hiring more staff to help deal with demand.
