Banks, Credit Unions and the NRMA are opposed to a plan by Woolworths to introduce pay-at-the-pump facilities at its co-branded Caltex petrol stations. Woolworths plans to offer the service only to holders of its Everyday Money MasterCard. The opponents argue that the plan will undermine the "honour all cards" principle which underpins competition in the cards market. The competition regulator, the ACCC rejected a similar application last year from the Sydney Cricket Ground which wanted to allow customers to pay for food using Macquarie Bank cards only.
