Fifty per cent of 12 homes for sale visited by the Herald Sun on Saturday were underquoted including one home in Prahran which was advertised for sale at about $100,000 below its reserve price of $1.1 million.The federal government has apparently abandoned plans to roll out underquoting bans and fines of up to $220,000 for advertising below genuine sales prices. The new laws were to come into effect from January 1 2010.Analysts said buyers were desperate to buy before the market dies down over Christmas and summer.
