More good auction results

| Auction clearance rates are continuing to hold up in Sydney. There were 498 residential properties listed for auction in Sydney on Saturday, with 63 per cent selling on the day. Last week in Sydney there were 525 auctions with a clearance rate of 61 per cent. On the same weekend last year there were 365 auctions with a clearance rate of 61 per cent.It was yet another good auction weekend in Melbourne, where 67 per cent of 794 properties put up for auction sold on the day. Last week in Melbourne 73 per cent of 703 properties sold at auction. Last year, on the same weekend, 78 per cent of 486 properties sold at auction in Melbourne. There were 48 properties put up for auction in Adelaide, the same number as last week, with a slightly improved clearance rate of 51 per cent. Brisbane results were relatively miserable with just 22 per cent of 46 properties put up for auction selling on the day, down from 36 per cent of 54 last week. |
