NAB text banking
20 May 2008

National Australia Bank has launched its SMS banking service which allows customers to receive an account balance or mini-statement and transfer funds between linked NAB accounts. The bank says that it plans to expand the service and may introduce a bill payment facility and similar services. Customers on any mobile network can register for the service which will be free (apart from normal message charges) until 1 November to encourage people to try it. A similar service is offered by the ANZ Bank but it requires customers to install software on their phones first.
