All Australians will feel some pain from the federal government's budget to be handed down next week. The treasurer Wayne Swan is looking for revenue measures that will help fund a $200 billion budget shortfall. "I think everybody is going to have to do their bit in this budget," Mr Swan told ABC radio.Fringe benefits tax could be extended to charity groups and beer and cigarette taxes are set to rise. A clamp down on middle-class welfare is expected including a new means test on private health insurance rebates. Child care rebates may also be means tested.The Government confirmed yesterday it would halve the amount of money wealthy people could sacrifice into superannuation, in a move that could save $2.7 billion over four years. The Government expects to pay up to $3 billion a year in interest to service its' debt.
