Short term debt prices are coming down so banks should be looking to cut their interest rates to borrowers said the Treasurer Wayne Swan yesterday. The RBA has signalled a willingness to cut rates as soon as next month. Last week the deputy governor said the bank was confident inflation was under control and could now respond on interest rates. The Commonwealth Bank said the credit crunch would last for another 12 – 18 months.
