Yesterday Westpac announced to the world via Twitter that it was "Oh so very over it today."The slightly bizarre tweet from the bank which announced a 33 per cent surge in profits to $1.6 billion for the 3 months to December earlier in the week attracted the attention of thousands of people, including some Westpac customers.One replied that "Maybe you can go dive in a swimming pool full of my money to make you feel better." Another said "You're a bank. You made a $1.6 billion first-quarter profit. Cheer up." The tweet did appeal to some: "Finally! A bank that feels existential pain." Westpac removed the tweet yesterday afternoon.
