NAB shares fell 76 cents yesterday to $24.70 following the announcement of the departure of John Stewart and the appointment of his successor as CEO of NAB. Cameron Clyne, the 40 year old head of NAB New Zealand will become the youngest ever CEO of NAB on January 1 2009. Clyne will continue to run the New Zealand subsidiary until October 1 then spend three months working with John Stewart before taking over in the new year. The bank said the change was not related to NAB's announcement on Friday of extra provisioning for its investment activities in the USA that have been hit by losses. Analysts said they expected NAB to have to make more provisioning for bad loans and debts.
