Aussie customer files left out for recycling 16 October 2008
Files belonging to 44 of Aussie Home Loans customers were allegedly found in a recycling bin in the public corridor of a suburban office in Sydney's outer-west. The discovery raises concerns that the lack of security over personal information could lead to identity theft. Aussie had recently moved from the office to a new location. Aussie chief executive Stephen Porges apologised to the affected customer and said the company is taking the matter seriously.
