Carbon Offset Credit Cards

Carbon Offset Credit Cards

GE Money has launched Australia's first credit card with a program dedicated to offset cardbon emissions.

GE Money eco MasterCard

GE eco MasterCard

The new eco Mastercard from GE Money is the first credit card in Australia with a dedicated program that purchases carbon offsets on behalf of card holders via Origin Energy’s Carbon reduction scheme

Key Features

    • If 100,000 people spend 600 per month with the eco MasterCard, the carbon offsets each year would be equivalent to taking 115,000 cars off the road for a year.
    • As an eco MasterCard cardholder, you can contribute 1% of your purchases to emission reduction projects or .5% and get .5% cash back as a credit to your account.^
    • 0% on balance transfers for up to 6 months
    • $210 net spend on the card offsets 500 km of car travel
    • $855 net spend on the card offsets a return flight from Sydney to Perth
    • $6000 spend per month offsets the average Australian’s direct emissions from travel, household waste and house hold energy

Terms and conditions

*Conditions, fees and charges apply. Offsets accrued on first $50,000 purchases only each year. Carbon offsets will be purchased on Earth Day, 22nd April, each year. ^Credits will be applied to your account in May of each year. ‡Purchase spend doesn't include returns, cash advances or balance transfers. ~0% p.a. special balance transfer annual percentage rate applies for up to six months from account opening.
